FHS Academic Booster Club is having its benefit fundraiser ALL day on Wednesday, May 4, at Sweet Frog:  2550 Tiffin Ave.  Please mention FHS Academic Boosters when paying and Sweet Frog will donate 25% from all supporters back to the organization. No flyer needed.
Attention Juniors: The 2016 Flag City Balloonfest Ambassador Scholarship is now available. This scholarship is available to Juniors only (class of 2017) and awards two recipients with a $1,000.00 scholarship. Applicants must be a resident of Hancock county, maintain a minimum of a 3.25 GPA, and submit an essay. Applications are available online at www.flagcityballoonfest.org<http://www.flagcityballoonfest.org> or in the SAC office and are due by May 31, 2016 to: Flag City Balloonfest 1951 W. Sandusky Street Findlay, OH 45840. Questions or concerns, see your counselor.
For students attending Millstream Career Center next year, there will be a meet at Great for students and parents this Thursday, May 5th at 5pm.

May 17 - Salsa and Study after school-4p.m.! Teachers from the Math, Foreign Language, & English depts. will be here. You can and have chips & salsa while you study. Bring your own beverage and bring your friends!
May 18 - Senior textbooks due!
May 19 - Cakes and Cram after school-4p.m.! Teachers from the Social Studies, Science, Art/Music, and Millstream will be here. Pancakes provided by Findlay Hancock County Public Library. Bring your own beverage and bring your friends!
May 20 - (Or after your final exams) ALL textbooks due for grades 9-11.
Reminder Thursday, May 5th, 2016 Findlay High School is excited to host Rick Mann for student and parent presentations. Rick Mann is a presenter on "Think Before You Click", a presentation for students and parents. He will be presenting to parents the same evening of Parent Teacher Conferences at 7 p.m. in the FHS Library. See the attachment for details.

Previous announcements

Cabaret 2016 featuring FFE will be held at Findlay High School R.L. Heminger Auditorium this Friday, May 6th at 7:30 PM and Saturday, May 7th at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Tickets on sale May 2-5 in the FHS auditorium lobby from 3:00-6:00 PM. Also available before each show. $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Please see attached flyer for details.

Anyone interested in applying to help in the athletic training room and be a part of the football program for the 2016 season as a student athletic training aide or manager can pick up an application from the athletic office or from Miss Hemmelgarn after school. An athletic training student aide and manager helps in the training room with athlete care, practice and game preparation, attends practices and travels to all games with the football team.  You can learn leadership, time management skills, and basic first aid skills.  If you have questions please see Ms. Hemmelgarn. Applications due no later than May 18, 2016.
Thursday, May 5th is the National Day of Prayer.  STAND students will meet outside of the student entrance at 6:40 to pray for our school, community, local/state/federal government and our country.  Anyone is welcome to join.  There will be a short time of singing, breakfast and prayer.
We will have an organizational meeting for all students that want to play JV or Varsity Hockey for the 2016/17 season. The meeting will be on Wednesday, May 18th at 6 PM,  (allow 1 hour for the meeting ) at the Cube conference room. Please be there on time and if you cannot make it I need you to let me know and include your current email address and cell phone number. Also put the date down of June 11th , Findlay High School is having the Trojan Trot and we will be working at this event. More to come later. Thanks   GO TROJANS !  OUR TIME !

Attention Seniors:  There are 2 final scholarships that will interest some of you:  (1) the Eunice Doebel Scholarship is for female graduates that plan to teach early or middle childhood students.  You must have a 2.5 GPA, be accepted into a 4-yr. college, and active in the school/community.  The deadline for this $1,000 scholarship is Friday, May 6.<x-apple-data-detectors://2>  (2)   the Reynolds Raider Biology scholarship is for students that plan to major is a life science -related career.  You must be accepted into a 4-yr. college and meet the Thursday, May 5th deadline. Both scholarship applications are located in the SAC Office file cabinet.

SENIORS - Library books are due May 13. Textbooks are due to the library May 18. Don't be surprised by a bill at graduation practice-turn your books in on time!
Prom is May 14th, 2016. 8:00pm to 11:00pm. Tickets will be available May 4th - May13th during high school lunch in the cafeteria and after school outside the SAC office.  Tickets are $20.00 for guest (from another school) or Juniors.  $10.00 for Seniors ($20.00 for their guest as well if from another school).  FHS Student ID and guest forms are required to purchase a prom ticket. REMINDER:  All past years fees must be paid to purchase a prom ticket.  Please see your secretary for fee information.
Attention senior parents: Please see attached form regarding "Congrats Grad outdoor sign announcements" for your 2016 graduate. Seniors!  Get your college attire ready!  On Thursday, May 5, 2016, at 2:15 p.m. the FHS Trojan yearbook staff will be taking the Senior College group photos in front of the FHS main entrance.  So get your attire ready for the college that you will be attending and on May 5 at 2:15 p.m. look for your peers that will be attending the same college.  Don't be late!  You will be left out of the photo!
Attention Seniors: the FHS Faculty Scholarship is now available. HS Seniors can find the application online at: http://fhs.fcs.org/scholarships.html or in the SAC office. The scholarship, worth $500.00, is based on student involvement, GPA, rank, and educational/career goals. Applications are due May 6th in the SAC office by the end of the day.
The Hancock Literacy Coalition is seeking volunteers to help with Summer Reads Kick off at the Findlay Hancock Public library on Wednesday, June 1. Volunteers will be involved in reading and literacy activities with children ages 0-6. Volunteers are needed in 2 hour shifts beginning at 9:00am through 7:00 pm. Forms are available in the SAC Office or attached to this email. They must be submitted to Mr. Imke in the SAC office by May 16, 2016.  BE SURE TO NOMINATE YOUR CHOICE FOR "TROJAN OF THE YEAR"!

Attention Graduating Seniors, it is crunch time for Cap, Gown, Tassel, and Medallion.  All graduates need to have a Cap, Gown, Tassel, and Medallion to participate in Graduation Ceremony.  Please see Mrs. Marshall ASAP if you have not yet ordered your graduation Cap, Gown, Tassel, and Medallion.

Schedule Your Senior Portrait Photo Session Now!
Your senior year is quickly approaching, and that means you will be getting your senior portrait taken.  We encourage you to have your senior photo taken this spring/summer so you will not have any problem meeting the October 31, 2016, yearbook deadline.  If you are not able to have your photo taken during the summer, at least make the appointment during the summer so that your photo can be taken in plenty of time to meet the deadline.  Scheduling early may mean big discounts from your professional photographer!
All images must be 2 1/2" wide by 3 1/2" high and a 300 dpi color digital file in the sRGB colorspace.  After August 1, 2016, submit your photo to www.hjeshare.com<http://www.hjeshare.com> and enter the school code: 3061398.
